This Privacy Policy explains how Universal TV Remote Control ("the app", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the app.
1. Summary
Universal TV Remote Control is designed to let you browse compatible infrared remote profiles and send IR commands from supported Android devices. The app does not require you to create an account or sign in.
2. Information We Collect
We do not intentionally collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, audio recordings, or precise location through the app itself.
The app may process limited technical information needed to operate, such as:
- requests for remote profile files and app configuration from internet hosts;
- basic device and app interaction data processed by advertising providers;
- temporary in-app settings such as sound and vibration preferences during use.
3. How the App Uses Data
The app uses data only to provide its features, including to:
- load infrared remote definitions and related app content;
- check and use the device infrared emitter when available;
- show ads and load ad-related configuration;
- open the privacy policy link and other external links when requested by you.
4. Permissions Used
The Android version of the app currently uses the following permissions:
- INTERNET: to fetch remote data, app configuration, and advertising content.
- TRANSMIT_IR: to send infrared commands to supported devices.
- VIBRATE: to provide haptic feedback when using remote buttons.
The app declares support for devices with an infrared emitter, but an IR blaster is not required to install the app.
5. Network Services and External Sources
To operate, the app may connect to third-party hosting services to retrieve remote profile files and app configuration data. For example, the current app build fetches remote files from GitHub-hosted content and ad configuration from a CDN endpoint controlled by the publisher.
These requests may include standard technical information such as your IP address, device type, app version, and request metadata as part of normal internet communication.
6. Advertising
The app uses Google Mobile Ads / AdMob to display ads. Google and its partners may collect or process device-related data, including advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostics, and ad interaction data, subject to their own policies and legal requirements.

7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be shared only as needed to operate the app, such as with hosting providers that deliver remote files or with advertising providers that serve ads.
8. Data Retention
We do not maintain user account records for this app. Any temporary app state is handled on the device during use. Third-party providers may retain technical or advertising data according to their own retention practices.
9. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to support the security of the app, but no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
